She completed her master's degree under the supervision of Carol Shields. He received the title of Associate Professor in March 2017. In 2019, he participated as an observer in the Tokyo National Cancer Centre, which applied intraarterial chemotherapy treatment for retinoblastoma for the first time in the world. In November 2022, he became a Professor and focused his research on adult and paediatric ocular oncology, oculoplasty, cataract surgery and refractive visual defects. He has published over 150 scientific studies and numerous articles in international and national journals.

After completing his primary and secondary education in Ankara, he entered Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 1986 and graduated in 1992. In 1993, he started to work as an assistant in 19 Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine Eye Clinic and after studying at Gazi University, he worked in the Eye Clinic for 6 months in 1996 and received his speciality in Ophthalmology and Surgery in 1997. After his specialisation, he went to the United States of America and worked as an observer at UCSF (University of California San Francisco). On 8 and 9 May 2009, he successfully passed the European Board of Ophthalmology in Paris and received the European Union Ophthalmology Specialist Diploma and the title of FEBO (Member of the European Board of Ophthalmology).
